Canadian Ski Patrol – Guinness Attempt 2018

Find Roland!

Our founder Roland decided to take part in the 2018 Ski Patrol Guinness attempt for the most simultaneous snow angels. Canadians from all areas in Canada participated in the event.

It was a beautiful winter day in the capital with a temperature of -18° in the sun.  With the support of his good friend Darlene Villeneuve, he took on the challenge of creating a snow angel in his shorts.  Brrr

Undressing a bit early he waited until they had the green light across Canada for the Guinness officials.  Minutes were long!  Finally, the signal was given to lie down in preparation… another couple of minutes passed and they got the go-ahead… and final instructions.  They needed to perform the snow angel for 60 seconds. 60 seconds went by at the rate of 1 every 3 seconds – or so it seemed.  Finally, they were done. Phew!  But wait, they need to take the official photo, so back down they went to lie there for yes, another 1-2 minutes.

It was an altogether great effort and well organized. But nobody counted on a barely dressed participant fighting for kids’ cancer research.

Just one of many stories coming out of this great campaign for CHEO that is put on each year in Ottawa.
